SDO LONDON GUIDE

Before we dive in, let’s set expectations: this isn’t a definitive guide to London. It’s a curated collection of places we visited, loved, and felt inspired to share. We believe the best way to experience a city is to wander, get lost, and connect with locals. Think of this as a flexible blueprint — a starting point for your own adventure.

During our trip, we stayed in Shoreditch, a vibrant neighborhood often compared to Williamsburg in NYC. With its eclectic mix of bars, shops like A.P.C. and SNS, and creative energy, it’s easy to see why. Below, we’ve highlighted some of our favorite spots from the trip, ranging from cozy cafes to buzzing music venues.

1. Blank Street Coffee

📍 3 Redchurch St, London E2 7DJ, UK
Category: Café

Not a huge coffee drinker? Neither are we — but their hot chocolate is a game-changer. Choose between regular or white chocolate for a warming start to your day as you explore the city. Simple, satisfying, and perfect for those chilly London mornings.

2. Dishoom

📍 7 Boundary St, London E2 7JE, UK
Category: Indian Cuisine

Dishoom came highly recommended — and for good reason. We were advised to arrive before 2 PM to avoid the long queues (shoutout to the friendly server for the tip). We feasted on the Lamb Shank with Roti and Grilled Prawns — both rich, flavorful, and unforgettable. With a menu full of bold, spiced dishes, you can’t go wrong here.

3. Smoking Goat

📍 64 Shoreditch High St, London E1 6JJ, UK
Category: Thai Cuisine

Our first dinner in London set the bar very high. The standout? Fish Sauce Wings that were crispy, tangy, and addictive. We paired them with a comforting Beef Massaman Curry and jasmine rice — so good we saved some for breakfast the next day. Cozy, flavorful, and the perfect late-night find.

4. Rain Dogs

📍 120 Bethnal Grn Rd, London E2 6DG, UK
Category: Bar

With many bars closing early, Rain Dogs was a lifesaver. Open until midnight on Sundays, it’s a laid-back spot with bartenders who’ll craft custom drinks based on your preferences. Whether you’re after a classic or something off-menu, this cozy bar is the perfect place to end your night.

5. Homeslice LDN

📍 13 Neal's Yard, London WC2H 9DP, UK
Category: Pizza

Tucked into Covent Garden, Homeslice is a must-visit for pizza lovers. We went bold with a half-and-half pie: Curried Minced Lamb on one side and Air-Dried Wagyu on the other. Both were uniquely delicious, proving that pizza in London can be just as creative as anywhere else.

6. Night Tales Loft

📍 207, 1 Westgate St, London E8 3RL, UK
Category: Music Venue / Bar

We stumbled upon this spot during a late-night wander, and it turned out to be one of the trip’s highlights. Night Tales Loft hosts live music, including unforgettable jazz nights. The full bar and made-to-order pizzas keep the vibe going well into the night. A gem you won’t want to miss.

7. Peckham Audio

📍 133a Rye Ln, London SE15 4BQ, UK
Category: Music Venue / Bar

Looking for a spot that stays open late? Peckham Audio delivered. We hit up a Shapes Party here and loved the atmosphere, which reminded us of Elsewhere Loft in NYC. Great drinks, great people, and an unforgettable night of dancing until closing time.

8. Forbidden Planet

📍 179 Shaftesbury Ave, London WC2H 8JR, UK
Category: Comics / Collectibles Store

As a fan of comics and collectibles, Forbidden Planet was a must-visit. This iconic shop has an extensive selection of comics, action figures, and memorabilia. Whether you’re a collector or just curious, it’s a pop culture haven that shouldn’t be missed.
